 VALUES AND FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

INTRODUCTION:

The lasting joy and the confidence to face anything is something that makes everyone content and is peaceful. Many people fail to find the sustaining happiness and ability to adapt to the different situations of life because of the lack of the right values and foundational skills of life. The greatest teaching is the teaching to learn by self.

PROPOSAL OF ACTIVITIES:

The people who would like to learn the important values and the foundational skills that are needed for them can participate in the programs that shall be scheduled to happen weekly/ two weeks/ monthly once in a public place (Local organization/ Panchayat building/ Home/ Religious place etc.- after seeking proper arrangements) that is nearby and accessible to the participants. The regular participants shall be provided with personal training, mentoring, exposure, and counseling on different disciplines and matters of interest through Volunteers and Professionals.

The sessions shall enlighten the participants to realize their potentials and talents; to assess and analyze their current status; to make valuable decisions to improve themselves. The Audio-Visuals and the Activities shall be used to enhance their engagement and so the concepts shall be imbibed in them.

OUTCOME THAT COULD BE EXPECTED:

The Values and Foundational Skills Development will help people to manage different things in life including time, talents, treasures, and it is expected to help the people to effectively lead their lives through best decisions and leadership skills by having awareness about different things and thereby have the feeling of success in everything they do.

Different topics that are chosen shall give confidence, direction, and purpose for the young people, for their lives and it is expected to ignite the people's thoughts and help them to initiate personal, professional, and social development.

People who participate could also develop communication, critical thinking, collaboration, technical, or any other knowledge-based skills that are foundational and essential for them to learn other things.

EXTENSION OF SUPPORT:

The people who participate regularly can be further guided in their Leadership Development and Career Development.

WAY TO WORK:

An Individual or an Organization shall who are interested in developing people shall meet the people in the community that is nearby and share about the idea of 'Values and Foundational skills Development' to people/ leaders / influential people/ head of local institutions/ groups and try to identify the available and interested people. Even if only a few of them are there, the meeting together shall be started weekly once, once in two weeks or monthly once for 1-1.5 hours for sharing some thoughts, brainstorming, and action; and slowly the people might be added. Continuous support and guidance shall be provided, beyond the meeting in a possible way.

It might be disappointing and discouraging when some people are ignorant, but still shall neglect and focus on those who need it. After continuous follow up of three times, shall leave those who are ignorant.

The average time for leading the 'Values and Foundational skills Development' of a group in this manner in a moderate way 3-4 hours including preparation, travel, and further guidance per week/ two weeks/month based on the time that is committed. It’s nearly just 2 % of the overall time/ week, 1% / two weeks and 0.5% /month and that is much negligible compared to the time we spend for entertainment or our personal interests.

Remuneration:

Rs. 0-500 for an hour work per person shall be got based on the financial capacity of the participant/ institution.
